Polina Frydmann is a Vienna-based interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans drawing, printmaking, photography  and mixed media. She hold PhD in Art History and explores themes of memory, identity, cultural heritage and the emotional traces carried through generations.

Her artistic language is characterized by reduced forms, expressive linework and layered textures. Rather than pursuing realistic representation, Frydmann distills the human face and shape into symbolic shapes, allowing emotion and cultural references to emerge through color, composition and ornament. Each portrait and figure become an archetype rather than an individual, a visual story that invites viewers to recognize fragments of themselves and of one another.
